The next eight games will sort things out
Eight very interesting games coming up. These are the games, that will tell us how good we are.
I must admit, in my present mood, I can see a lot of points here. Mind you, I've been optimistic before and been proven wrong.

Stoke away. 1st Nov

Villa at home 8th Nov

Everton away 22nd. Nov

Newcastle at home 29th. Nov

West Brom away 2nd. Dec

Swansea at home 7th. Dec

Sunderland away 13th. Dec

Leicester at home 20th. Dec

We could be sitting pretty, before the Christmas - New year week, sees us take on Chelsea and Arsenal in two days. 26th. and 28th Dec.

West Ham will get some points but not all.

This will be similar to some other teams.

Re: The next eight games will sort things out
I genuinely believe this is realistic, on current form:

Stoke away. 1st Nov - Draw, 1 Point.

Villa at home 8th Nov - Win, 3 Points.

Everton away 22nd. Nov - Loss, 0 Points.

Newcastle at home 29th. Nov - Win, 3 Points.

West Brom away 2nd. Dec - Draw/Loss, 1 Point/0 Points.

Swansea at home 7th. Dec - Win, 3 Points.

Sunderland away 13th. Dec - Win, 3 Points.

Leicester at home 20th. Dec - Win, 3 Points.

So 16/17 points, if we keep this form up and stay injury free I genuinely believe this is do-able. COYI!

Re: The next eight games will sort things out
Football never follows the obvious, but if the performances stay at this standard you have to feel the home games are all wins. The away will always be trickier but more than possible for 4-6 points from them too.

I would take 14/15 points now in a heart beat. That would leave us on over 30 at Xmas!!

Re: The next eight games will sort things out
Bit random, these Carlton posts that just popped up, but as much as I love Carlton, and think he can still do a super sub job, and start a few to give the new boys a rest and be super subs instead, I agree that Zamora would be a much better sub to bring on for the last 15 mins, especially when guarding a lead.

Cole has a better fitness record though, doesn't he?

Re: The next eight games will sort things out
I love carlton cole but in truth hes a shocking player I don't remember him holding one ball up yesterday when we were desperate for him to take some pressure off of us ... compare him to how Zamora looked for qpr last week and I know who I would have have warming the bench up given the choice

Re: The next eight games will sort things out
I noticed yesterday for the first time where Coles problem lies, his proportions do not enable him to run properly, he runs like he's got short legs, hence the imobility!

What the team has got to guard against now is over-confidence and complacency.

Re: The next eight games will sort things out
3 points would do me. Just beat fucking Everton.

Realistically we should be aiming for 12/15 points from those games. Safety assured and sort out buying Song if at all possible, keeping Reid or not, and who we want as manager going forward. Squad wise, I don't see us needing much come January.

I'd also fancy us against Arsenal at the moment, I think we'd overpower their midfield.

Re: The next eight games will sort things out
Somewhere around 17 pts from that lot isn't unrealistic on current form.

33 points going into the Christmas fixtures would be fantastic. We've already got more points so far this season than the total we had AFTER the Christmas fixtures last year (15).

Lily Hammer 11:20 Sun Oct 26
Re: The next eight games will sort things out
On current form, we'll get anywhere between 15 and 24 points. It would be deluded to expect that, but it's fair to state the genuine possibility.

Exciting times, ladies and gents.

I only see one game there where I think 'loss'. Everton. As usual.

Re: The next eight games will sort things out
I reckon Cole got stick because he didn't manage to get any contact on the ball, let alone win it, for three out of the first four balls played up to him.

Re: The next eight games will sort things out
Carroll would have been perfect yesterday totally agree, valencia worked his socks off and was kicked pillar to post by Kompany. Carroll would have had some joy as Kompany was on thin ice.

The next eight games will really show just how far we have come. Hoping we can give a good account of ourselves and with confidence sky high we should do.
However this is west ham united so I wouldn't be surprised to see 8 losses and a win against Chelsea and arsenal Xmas week.
